Local Community
Surrey County Cricket Club is committed to supporting the local community: opening up facilities and coaching programmes at the Brit Oval to local people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

Our community programmes focus on cricket and education, and together with other work in the neighbourhood, form one of the best community programmes in professional sport. The programmes are run by a dedicated team of coaches and a Community Manager employed by Surrey CCC.
Our activities in the community are part of an outreach programme which centres on Lambeth but also extends to other boroughs in South London.
Our five main community projects include:
- The Prince’s Trust Cricket Initiative
- Playing for Success
- The Howzat Education Project
- Kennington United Cricket Club
- The ECHO Project
Facilities at the Brit Oval have been specially designed to meet the needs of our community programme. Activities take place in the Ben Hollioake Learning Centre (which also houses a fully IT equipped classroom) and the Lambeth Hall (a community sports hall directly outside the classroom).
All community facilities are available for use and can be booked.
