Community Facilities

The Brit Oval does not just cater for the playing and watching of cricket, it also provides space and facilities that members of the local community can use for a whole range of activities.

Ben Hollioake Centre
This is a fully equipped classroom that can comfortably host fifteen people. It is equipped with state of the art learning tools such as an interactive whiteboard and laptops with fully enabled wireless internet capability. The classroom is adjacent to a sports hall – the Lambeth Hall – that has a 30 person capacity.

Lambeth Hall
This is a sports hall located right next to the Ben Hollioake Centre that provides the perfect environment for young people to participate in cricket (and other sports) in a safe and welcoming environment. It is also a great space for adults and older people to use for a variety of activities from football to tai chi.

Both of these facilities are currently in use from Monday – Thursday all day, but is free on some Fridays (for one off events), and every Saturday. If you have a project that you think suits this facility, then please contact community@surreycricket.com for more information.

Prince’s Trust/Community Room
We are currently in the process of converting the viewing gallery of the sports hall into a fully functional educational facility. From 9-5 during school term time, the room will be solely occupied by the Prince’s Trust Group, but from 5pm-9:30pm every evening and on some weekends it will be free. The room will be perfect for local community groups to use, as it has internet connection, a self-contained kitchen unit and a projector for short films and presentations. The room will comfortably sit 10-15 adults.

Ken Barrington Centre
This is a fully equipped sports hall with the ability to host five-a-side football, cricket, badminton and many other sports (all though it’s predominantly cricket based). After work and weekend times are booked up until next Spring, and there is already a full schools programme running in the facility, but there are times during working hours, and early on Saturdays when the hall is free for suitable community activity.

Inflatable Net
The inflatable net is a large, transportable blow up cricket net that provides a safe and entertaining way for young peole to play cricket. Operated by a fully trained ECB qualified coach, the Surrey County Cricket Club Inflatable net is perfect for your summer fete or school sports day.

Depending on distance from the Brit Oval, there may be a small expenses charge when booking this facility.

For more information on any of the above facilities, please email community@surreycricket.com, or call 020 7820 5720

Please note that all use of these facilities is subject to approval by the Community Manager, and fees may be applicable
