Biography
Richard Clinton is a dedicated and persistent batsman, who hits the ball hard when he gets into his rhythm. Unfortunately injuries and illness have disrupted periods of good form and impacted his first-team appearances. Clinton first played county cricket for Essex in 2001. He joined Surrey CCC in 2004, after success in the Loughborough UCCE team. Richard’s father Grahame Clinton played for Surrey from 1979-90, partnering Alan Butcher as an opener. Richard has now added medium-paced bowling to his skills portfolio, which will come in useful during 2008.
