Biography
Jade Dernbach had a dream end of season in 2007. Returning from a hamstring injury, Dernbach’s line and length seemed to have deserted him, but the South African-born seamer kept pushing and was rewarded. Dernbach took a career-best 5 for 44 in the NatWest Pro40 clash with Essex and hit the winning six from the final ball against Leicester. Three wickets on the last day of the season helped Surrey gain fourth place in the Championship. Dernbach’s variety of deliveries has made him a one-day regular, probably at the expense of his first class development, but if he maintains his new-found form his breadth of experience in different formats will flourish
