Jordan’s back for crucial clash with Eagles

Published 9 May 2008

Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan will be back in Surrey’s Friends Provident Trophy gold strip for the Brown Cap’s clash with the Essex Eagles at the Brit Insurance Oval on Sunday.

Jordan has missed the last couple of One Day matches against Kent and Sussex because of a niggle in his side. However after a couple of days rest the young fast bowling all rounder has recovered sufficiently to be included in Alan Butcher’s squad for Sunday’s crunch match.

After an awesome performance with the bat against Sussex at Hove, Mark Butcher will be expecting more of the same from his top order as Surrey look for victory to take themselves to the top of the South Division.

Saqlain Mushtaq is in the squad as replacement for the injured Chris Schofield. The leg spinner fractured his thumb, whilst attempting to take a powerfully struck return catch during Surrey’s victory over the Sharks last night. He is due to see a specialist tomorrow.

The full squad to take on the Eagles is as follows:

Newman
Benning
Ramprakash
Butcher
Afzaal
Brown
Batty
Jordan
Nicholson
Dernbach
Collins
Mushtaq

As always, ball-by-ball commentary is available from www.surreycricket.com courtesy of BBC London.

You will also be able to see highlights of the match after the close on Surrey TV.

If you would like to come down to support the Brown Caps, tickets are available on the gate at the OCS Stand end of the ground - £12 for adults and £6 for under 16s. The gates will be open from 10am with the match due to start at 12pm.

Exclusive member seating is available in the Bedser Stand blocks 1-4, 13-16 and 17-20 as well as the first floor balcony of the OCS Stand. This is also open to Essex members. Food and drink will be available throughout the day from the John Major Room (second floor of the OCS Stand). An exclusive members’ restaurant is also available in the Pakistan Room (first floor of the OCS Stand).

Executive members have access to the members’ seating area as well as a small block outside the England Suite in the OCS Stand. Food and drink is available in the England Site all day (second floor of OCS Stand).

Non members can sit in the Bedser Stand. Food and Drink is in the West Bar, situated behind the Bedser Stand, or in Kiosk two, which is behind the OCS Stand.
