Clinton ton puts Surrey in box seat

Surrey, led by century maker Richard Clinton, amassed 433 for seven declared today from just 84.2 overs against Bradford/Leeds UCCE at the Brit Oval.
There were then 14 overs remaining in the day and Bradford/Leeds UCCE lost two wickets in this period to finish on 31 for two.

Richard Clinton was in fine touch today
Clinton hit is first hundred of the season in fine style, reaching three figures from 150 balls. He shared in a 135 run opening stand with Scott Newman, who made 83 quick runs before he was caught trying to whip the ball on the leg side off his hip.
Mark Ramprakash was also amongst the spoils, hitting 92 at better than a run a ball.
In the brief session when Surrey were in the field, Martin Bicknell showed no signs of any niggling hamstring problems that prevented him from playing against Sussex by taking one of the two Bradford/Leeds UCCE wickets to fall. He finished with 1-12 from six and Tim Murtagh took the other wicket, finishing with 1-4 from two overs.
