Brown surges back into form

Ali Brown surged back into form yesterday with a big century for the second team in their match against Leicestershire at Uppingham School.
Brown was left out of Surrey’s main team due to a dip in form but yesterday made 181 not out in Surrey’s impressive first innings total of 428-5 declared after they were asked to bat.

The Surrey stalwart smashed 19 fours and two sixes in his innings and also paired with youngster Chris Thompson in a 194 run stand for the third wicket. Thompson also made three figures but was eventually out in the final session of the day for a majestic 122.
The batting was backed up by the bowlers and at stumps, Surrey had their opponents struggling at 26-3. Neil Saker, Jade Dernbach and Nick Walker had one wicket each.
