After a few weeks of downtime since the season, Surrey’s wicket keeper batsman, Jonathan Batty, found time amongst some winter working activities to come to the Brit Oval and model the Brown Caps’ new One Day kit for 2008/09.

It is now just over five weeks since the English domestic cricket season finished. Some of the Surrey professional squad have flown to warmer climates to train through the long winter in preparation for next season. Batty however has used the last few weeks for recuperation after the long season but is now planning his activities in the lead up to Christmas. So what are his immediate plans for the next couple of months?

“I started some doing some work experience today with All Out Cricket Magazine – the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) cricket magazine.”

“I am just trying to find a bit about the business to see what it is all about, with a view to keeping one eye on the future when in five or six years time when I do decide to hang up the gloves and boots.”

Batty’s partner, Nicole Cutler, is one of the professional dancers off the BBC primetime show, Strictly Come Dancing. She is partnering former England footballer, John Barnes on the show and Batty has been present at the BBC Studios on the Saturday evenings to support them both.

“I’m there most weeks and really enjoying the show. I am amazed at the talent of all the professional dancers and really do hope that Nicole and her partner John can progress through to the latter part of the competition.”

“They are working extremely hard and I would hate to see all the time that they are putting in go to waste.”

Batty also found time to come down to the Brit Oval yesterday to model the Brown Caps’ One Day kit for next season (pictured above). The brand new 2008/2009 One Day kit is now available, and you can order yours and show your support for the Surrey team today. Click here to order the new Surrey one Day kit.

If you order your new kit before the 23 November 2007, you will get a free tour of the Brit Oval. The kit costs just £35 for adults and £22.50 for children under the age of six years.

“It is a great looking strip and I am really looking forward to getting back into the traditional Surrey brown and gold colours next season.”
