Biography
Mark Butcher is Surrey captain and the side’s most experienced Test Cricketer with 79 England caps (the last being against South Africa in December 2004). A wrist injury cost Butcher his England place, but with time to focus on Surrey he has helped forge a strong middle order. Butcher averaged 40 last season and led Surrey out of relegation trouble in the County Championship. Mark will captain Surrey again in the 2008 season
