Second day abandoned but Harinath speaks to Surrey TV
Published 13 April 2008
Consistent rain through the day at The Brit Insurance Oval meant that no play was possible on the second day of Surrey’s clash with Loughborough University.
The students were ready to resume their first innings on 148 for one, with Surrey contracted player and captain of Loughborough University, Matthew Spriegel 38 not out. However overnight rain delayed the start of play and heavy showers before and after lunch stopped any chance of the teams getting on the pitch at all on day two.
Arun Harinath, who could have played for either side in this match, stopped off at the Brit Oval on his way home from Lord’s, where play between the MCC and Sussex had been called off because of rain with the match ending in a draw.
Harinath spoke to Surrey TV telling of his experience of playing at the home of cricket in the first first class match of the 2008 season.
