Richard Clinton Makes Debut
- *
New Surrey player Richard Clinton makes his debut
today; at the time of writing (12.37) he was 40 not out. Richard has had a
successful few games for the Second XI and was called up to open the batting
with Scott Newman.
22-year-old Richard has played for Essex but made
his move to Surrey earlier in the summer. He has a batting average of 24.37, and
has already improved on that for Surrey, lets hope its an omen of things to
come.
Surrey won the toss this morning and elected to
bat.
Tomorrow evening half an hour after the close of
play there is the Chairmans Evening in the Long Room. In attendance will be the
Chairman of the Club, David Stewart; the Chairman of Cricket, Richard Thompson;
the Cricket Manager, Steve Rixon and the Club Captain, Jon
Batty.
