Newman makes it back to back hundreds

Scott Newman, for the first time in his career has made it back to back hundreds in a match as he raced to his 6th first-class hundred today.
Newman, who is currently unbeaten on 124, has put Surrey in control on the third day of their match against Glamorgan at the Brit Oval. The home side have raced to 195 for one, a lead of 294, with Richard Clinton the only man to fall, bowled by Robert Croft for 24.
Ramprakash is unbeaten on 46.

Meanwhile in the second eleven match, Surrey have been beaten by 286 runs in their first Championship match against Sussex at the Sutton Cricket Club.
Batting first, Sussex declared their first innings on 312 for nine and in reply, Surrey were bowled out for a paltry 93. The visitors then batted again and declared their second innings on 232 for eight, setting Surrey the unlikely total of 452 to win. Unfortunately for Surrey, they were not up to the task and were bowled out for 165, to lose by 286 runs.
Sussex 2nd XI 312/9 dec (Saker 3-67, Brandy 2-53) and 232/8 dec (Roberts 3-44, Doran 2-65) beat Surrey 2nd XI 93 (Seadon 38 not out) and 165 (Pratt 27, Doran 27, Seadon 23 Roberts 22) by 286 runs.
