Marston’s strikes beer deal with Surrey CCC

Marston’s has been named the official beer of Surrey County Cricket Club following a 10-year agreement to supply the Brit Oval.
The deal, which makes Surrey the sixth county cricket Club to be affiliated with the brewer, means that Marston’s Pedigree and Smooth will be on tap at the Brit Oval, Surrey’s home ground and the venue of last year’s Ashes victory.
Peter Jackson, marketing director for WDB Brands, said: “The partnership makes perfect sense, not least because, as leaders in our field, we both strive for quality in producing great beer and great cricket. We are pleased to extend our involvement with Surrey County Cricket Club, at such a prestigious venue, one with such happy memories for all English cricket fans when the Ashes were regained!”
Paul Sheldon, chief executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, said: “The pouring rights agreement with WDB Brands is a significant step forward for the Club as it brings commercial benefits and an enhanced product range for our members and visitors, backed up with improved service levels from our catering partners, Oval Events. We are delighted to be associated with WDB Brands and look forward to a mutually beneficial and successful long-term relationship.”
Marston’s will be sponsoring a number of future promotions, which include Marston's Moment of the Month, voted for by supporters on the Surrey website, giving both supporters and players the chance to win a case of beer.
