LV County Championship match abandoned

Surrey’s LV County Championship match against Sussex has been abandoned due to the unplayable conditions caused by the excessive rainfall over the past week.

As a result of the abandonment, both sides come away with four points, which leaves Surrey awaiting a possible result between Kent and Worcestershire at Canterbury to see where it leaves them in the LV County Championship division one.

There has been similarly bad weather at Canterbury over the last three days meaning that there would be no surprises if that match was also abandoned. If it is abandoned, Kent will take four points resulting in the division one relegation battle remaining in exactly the same state going into the last three matches.

Surrey now prepare to travel to Scarborough for a NatWest Pro40 match against Yorkshire before returning to the Brit Oval on bank holiday Monday to take on Glamorgan in the same competition.

Tickets are available for the home fixture against Glamorgan, costing £12 for adults and £6 for under 16s. If you want to purchase tickets online for this match, you can do by clicking here.
