England should push for series win says Ramprakash

Mark Ramprakash believes that England should take a lot of confidence into the final Test Match against New Zealand, after their convincing victory last weekend levelled the series one all going into the final match tomorrow.
Speaking exclusively to Surrey TV, Ramprakash praised the attacking nature in which England played the last Test Match and called for more of the same in an attempt to push on to win the series.
He said: “England have turned the momentum around and they will take a lot of confidence into the third Test. They have to go in and look to win the Test, I don’t think that it is a case of getting it back to one all and try and put in a solid performance.”
He added: “They have to go out there and I think look to dominate the game.”
The way England played in the last Match demonstrates that they have the ability to out-play their opposition without having to do anything untoward. Surrey’s best batsman believes that a large part of the victory was down to the way that the top order batted in difficult circumstances.
“England got themselves into a good position with two solid batting performances. I think that if they get the runs on the board then that really helps the bowlers to have a bit of confidence. It helps the captain of course, Michael Vaughan with his field placing, as he can afford to be aggressive.
There is much to be said of the performance of England’s latest wicket keeper Tim Ambrose, who scored his maiden Test Match century in the first innings, which effectively put his side in a match winning position. Ramprakash enjoyed the way in which he went about compiling his runs.
“It was a match winning performance without a doubt because the senior players did not make significant or match winning scores. He came in at a pressure time but played aggressively, scored well and had his game plan to play to his strengths.”
“Before the series started, I said that he was a tidy player behind the stumps and a well organised batsman. But he showed a game that was aggressive and took the battle to the bowlers whenever he could.”
