Surrey County Cricket Club are delighted to announce a three-year deal with Connaught PLC, who have agreed to become the headline sponsor of the Club’s Playing for Success programme.
Playing for Success (PfS) is an ongoing after school scheme run in partnership with Lambeth Council and the Department for Education and Skills. It is based in the Club’s dedicated community classroom, the Ben Hollioake Learning Centre, and delivers an innovative ten-week curriculum of IT literacy and numeracy inspired by a combination of cricket, other sports and pupils’ own interests. Around 350 children and young people from 24 Lambeth schools benefit from the scheme every year.

As a result of Connaught’s generosity, each pupil will also receive 10 hours of cricket coaching from a highly qualified coach; Hollioake Club Membership allowing entry to Surrey games throughout the season; tickets to a Twenty 20 Game, and a range of goodies including t-shirts, caps, and much more. Their funds will also help to support capital works planned to improve the Ben Hollioake Learning Centre in the near future.
Connaught is the leading integrated asset management services business operating within the UK's social housing and private sector markets. Their Social Housing division has a community focus, fixing, maintaining, refurbishing and cleaning homes and neighbourhoods for local authorities and social landlords, and is one of the most highly respected players in the national social housing landscape.
Commenting on the new partnership, Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Blanchard said, “We are pleased that Connaught have chosen to support our Playing for Success programme. Such support allows participants in the scheme to enjoy added benefits that otherwise would not be provided for. These benefits in turn add a new dimension to our PfS scheme, and we’d like to think that as a Club we are offering the kids involved a learning experience that they couldn’t get anywhere else.”
Mark Everard, a Director at Connaught added, “We are very excited to support Surrey County Cricket Club, and especially the Playing for Success scheme as it benefits hundreds of children in the Borough of Lambeth. Our support in this partnership will directly help children and young people in our community, which is something that is very much at the centre of our business.”
