Biography
Arun Harinath was nominated for early advancement from the Surrey Youth Team by Mark Ramprakash in 2004. Harinath joined Surrey’s youth side at nine and learnt much from former Surrey manager Keith Medlycott whilst at Sutton Cricket Club. Medlycott gave Harinath the chance to experiment; batting in different positions and situations. Left-hander Arun made 157 for Sutton against Notts in the Second XI Championship 2006. In 2007, at Loughborough UCCE he made 57 against Somerset and 69 against Worcestershire. Like another Surrey left-hander, Graham Thorpe, Harinath has the skill to calmly and steadily collect runs from all over the wicket.
