Surrey County Cricket Club’s Chairman of Cricket, Roger Harman, supported Shepperton Cricket Club’s fundraising dinner, which managed to raise a magnificent £9,000.
In the next stage of the Shepperton pavilion development, 150 people at Shepperton Studios, were joined by Roger and other special guests that included England Women’s cricketer Nicola Shaw and Terry Wright an Auctioneer from Wellers.
The fundraising dinner was in aid of the Shepperton pavilion which they are rebuilding
The fundraising evening got underway with an auction, which was expertly led by Wright. Special lots, including signed Surrey memorabilia, tickets to the Test Match at the Brit Oval as well as holidays to Turkey and various other places, altogether managed to raise almost £5000, an unbelievable effort.
A fantastic Black Tie evening dinner was followed by a performance from a band local to Shepperton called Neau Box, who kept the dinner guests gloriously entertained throughout the remainder of the evening.
Surrey County Cricket Club’s Cricket Development Manager, Sharon Eyers, who was also present on the evening said: “It was a fantastic event that managed to raise just over £9,000.”
“The evening had a great deal of support from both locals and club members. The old pavilion has now been destroyed, and the foundations have been laid for the structure of the new one.”
She added: “It is very satisfying to see everyone’s hard work start to come to fruition.”
