Surrey look to add to win in NatWest Pro40 Bank Holiday weekend
Published 24 August 2007
After their washed out LV County Championship Match against Sussex at the Brit Oval, Surrey now travel to Scarborough to take on the Yorkshire Phoenix in the NatWest Pro40 on Sunday before returning to HQ the following day for their clash with Glamorgan in the same competition.
Alan Butcher has selected the same nucleus of players that played against the Derbyshire Phantoms for his team’s double-header over the Bank Holiday weekend. Mark Butcher comes back into the side in the place of Mark Ramprakash, who acted as the stand-in captain in Butcher’s absence last week.
After some strong performances in the second team, Jade Dernbach has been called up into the squad for the weekend, whilst Jimmy Ormond is being rested.
Scott Newman will be looking to continue his good form in the NatWest Pro40 having got off to a flying start with 84 against Durham at Guildford and following that up with a match winning 62 from just 33 deliveries against Derbyshire last week.
