Ramprakash cleans up at Surrey awards dinner

Mark Ramprakash’s incredible season for Surrey was recognised with numerous awards at the Club’s End of Season Awards dinner, held in the OCS Stand at the Brit Oval last night.
The superstar batsman, who for the second consecutive season amassed over 2000 Championship runs at an average of over 100, walked away with six awards ranging from the Bio Synergy Fitness Award to the Batsman of the year and Players’ Player of the year Award.
The awards evening, held in the OCS Stand at Surrey Cricket head quarters, was a complete success, with the Surrey playing squad, Sponsors and Club members alike attending. Everyone enjoyed a champagne reception, courtesy of Pannier, the evening’s sponsors, followed by a delicious three-course meal and coffee. The Master of Ceremonies, Sky Sports’ presenter, Charles Coville, announced the awards and conducted interviews in between courses, before the dance floor and chocolate fountain signalled the start of the rest of the evening.
Surrey’s new star all rounder, Chris Jordan gained acknowledgement for his remarkable start to first class cricket by being awarded the Brit Insurance Young Player of the Year Award. Chris Schofield was also present last night, fresh from having returned from South Africa to pick up the Brit Insurance Most Improved Player award.
Sadly, neither of Surrey’s overseas players, Harbhajan Singh or Matthew Nicholson, could be on hand to pick up the Brit Insurance Bowler of the Year Award, which they won jointly for picking up 37 and 44 wickets each respectively.
