Jordan prepares to bring down the Spitfires
Published 30 April 2008
Chris Jordan prepared for Surrey’s clash with the Kent Spitfires next Monday by hosting a net session for some cricketing Journalists.
The brave cricket writers braved an indoor net session at the Brit Insurance Oval, in which the young Surrey quick demonstrated his pace and control with a red projectile – otherwise known in the professional game as a cricket ball.
With the journalists hopping around it was clear that Jordan was bowling quickly but when asked by one of the journalists, who was putting the final touches to his protective gear, how much effort are you putting in? The young Surrey star gauged his levels and simply said “about 20%!” A frightening thought when you consider that it was difficult to see some his low-effort deliveries.
The net was in preparation for Surrey’s home Friends Provident Trophy match which is taking place at the Brit Insurance Oval this coming Bank Holiday Monday.
This coming bank holiday Monday at the Brit Oval, Jordan will have the white version of the missile in his hands and he will be ready to launch it at the Kent Spitfires batsman as Surrey set about a period of Friends Provident Trophy Cricket.
