Green Machine will take on the British Bulldogs in AFL warm up

The Brit Oval

As is traditional in AFL games, there will be a warm up game to this year's AFL Challenge at the Brit Oval on 8th October.

The Irish AFL side, the Green Machine will take on the British Bulldogs at 12.45pm, but the main event between Grand Finalists the West Coast Eagles and local Perth rivals the Fremantle Dockers will get underway at 2.40pm.

Both matches promise to be strongly contested and a guaranteed to keep spectators on the edge of their seats.

Tickets for the event are £20 and are available on www.surreycricket.com or 0207 582 7764. Gates open at 12.30, so if you want to get in to watch the Green Machine play the British Bulldogs it would be advised to buy your tickets in advance.

Paul Sheldon, Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, said:

"This event has grown year on year, we have already sold well over 10,000 tickets. This warm up game will add to the excitement of the day and we expect to see a good number of British and Irish fans here at the Brit Oval."

The first Australian Rules match at the Brit Oval was played in 1972 between Carlton and an All Stars side.
