Brit Oval secures England v Australia day night match in 2009

The ECB announced today the full schedule of matches for the touring Australians’ 2009 Ashes campaign. On top of hosting the fifth Ashes Test Match on 20-24 August, the Brit Oval will also play host to a NatWest Series day/night match between England and Australia on Friday 4 September.
As well as the confirmation of all Australian fixtures, dates were also confirmed for the World Twenty20 warm up period which is from Monday 1 June to Thursday 4 June, with the competition proper set to run from Friday 5 June to Sunday 21 June.
The Brit Oval will be one of three venues to host World Twenty20 cricket here next year which also includes one of the semi-final matches. Fixture and ticket information for the tournament will be available from www.surreycricket.com shortly.
