Guildford Festival

The Guildford festival, which is happening again in July of next year, will have its Sunday game televised by Sky Sports, the ECB announced today.

The match is scheduled for 23 July between Surrey and Kent and will be part of the 40 over league competition.

It is also the first time that Sky Sports has visited the Ali Brown
Ali Brown smashed an entertaining double century on the last occasion Sky Sports were at Guildford
Guildford Cricket Club since Ali Brown blasted a magnificent 203 against Hampshire in 1997, helping Surrey to a comfortable 68 run win.

The Guildford festival was a huge success last year despite being overshadowed by the start of the Ashes series at Lord’s. Surrey hosted Kent in the four day Championship game, which was followed by the one-day clash with Sussex. This year’s festival kicks off on 19 July when Surrey take on Somerset in the Liverpool Championship match, followed by the 40 over league televised game against Kent.

There are also an additional five televised matches scheduled for the Brit Oval next season which include:

7 May Surrey vs Somerset (C&G)

20 June England vs Sri Lanka (NatWest series)

4 July Surrey vs Sussex (Twenty20)

17-21 August England vs Pakistan (4th npower Test)

12 September Surrey vs Gloucestershire (40 over league)
