Fixures & Results for the Surrey U19 Boys Cricket

2007 Season Summary
Two impressive victories over Middlesex and Warwickshire and a dreadful performance against Lancashire were the outcomes of the under 19 season. Akbar Ansari batted well in his two centuries and carried on the form he showed on tour in South Africa. Daniel Newton scored a good hundred in the match against Warwickshire, while Tom Jewell headed
the bowling with seven wickets in two games. The dominance shown against Warwickshire, where we scored 415 for five and bowled them out for 205, was reversed in our match versus Lancashire. A pitiful first innings effort with the bat resulted in what should have been a possible chance of winning the league perishing over a session. The structure of cricket beyond the age of 15 will be reviewed with possible development fixtures being played for players between the ages of 15-18. This may replace existing under 16 and under 19 matches. Surrey Cricket would like to thank all the managers and coaches who have put in many hours over the year, both through winter and summer activity. Thank you Jim Banks who has administered the under 16 to under 19 programme. His efforts over the years have been immense and are very much appreciated.
