U12 Boys

This age group will very much act as a feeder for the National Age Groups (U-13, U-14 and U-15). Players will be given the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills in different match situations. Close attention will be paid to performances in District Cricket. Performance will be judged on an individual basis in addition to team success. Players of the required standard will be given the opportunity to play for the county throughout the season in order to identify a squad capable of success in the forthcoming National Competitions. Areas in need of improvement that have been
recognised from the previous years can be addressed and worked on during these age groups.

2007 Season Summary
The management team of Dave Sheppard and Richie Risebro led the under 12 side to four victories and just two losses. There were several notable performances throughout the summer, with the pick of the bowlers being leg-spinners Matthew Stiddard, who took the most wickets with 11, and Dominic Sibley, who took eight. Marcus Dawes and Richard O’Grady also bowled well throughout. The individual bowling performance of the season was undoubtedly Stiddard’s seven wickets for 27 runs in the final game of the summer at Warwickshire; an extraordinary match-winning performance. Three players scored over 100 runs this season; of these, Sibley and Jack Winslade were consistently impressive, but the top batsman of the season was Richard O’Grady, whose 157 runs were scored with real style and panache. Stiddard and Ashley Middleton shared the wicketkeeping to an exceptionally high standard.
