U10 Boys
Players participate in a county match programme, which will encourage competitiveness, reaction to challenge and, through this, the cricketers will be given the opportunity to cope with success and failure. Emphasis will very much be on development, participation and enjoyment. Players will also be expected to play within the ‘ethics’ of the game. The U-10 and U-11 cricketers will represent their district in the early part of the season.

2007 Season Summary
As with many age groups, the under 10 season was heavily affected by the weather with no less than five county fixtures being lost to rain. Despite this, this enthusiastic and talented group of players managed to win seven fixtures, losing just two. There were
several notable individual performances throughout the summer. All-rounder Robbie Hughes and off-spinner Bobby Patel were the pick of the bowlers, topping the wicket-taking list and bowling with real consistency and skill throughout the summer. The bulk of the wicket-keeping was done by an extremely talented all-rounder in Ollie Batchelor, who also scored valuable runs in an attacking and mature way. The team’s fine fielding performances were led by Chris Jones whose outstanding efforts showed team-mates and
opposition alike the importance of the art of fielding. Oskar Kolk gained the respect of his team-mates through his outstanding batting at the top of the order and his level-headed and mature approach to captaincy. The success of our season reached its peak with a three-day Festival at Malvern College. This was a great opportunity for the boys to spend a sustained period of time together both on the field during practice and matches and off the field during team meetings and arranged activities. The Festival was a great success demonstrated by strong performances, resulting in four victories in four games and near immaculate behaviour off the field.
