These courses are run thoughout the county at different locations including The Brit Oval and the Surrey County Cricket Centre in Guildford.

There are two styles of courses that are run:

• Development Courses
  Surrey Cricket’s Development Department organise a series of Development Courses. These are countywide winter coaching courses for 6 to 16-year olds run each winter: between October and December (pre-Christmas) and again from January to March (post-Christmas) – and are open to boys and girls of all abilities and experience. At the end of each course the Lead Coach will identify young cricketers with the most potential – this is the first stage of talent identification for selection into District and County Age Group cricket. • Performance Courses
  Performance Courses are for U-8’s to U-10’s who attended pre-Christmas Development Courses, that the coaches felt have the potential to go on and play District Cricket and
  County Age Group cricket. Selection onto Performance Courses is invitational – we will select young cricketers who excelled on pre-Christmas Development courses. Performance Courses form the basis of selection into the District Cricket Programme and the County Age Group squads at U-9 and U-10 levels. The Jim Laker Scholorships is to help develop the art of spin bowling throughout the County and is open to existing and talented spin bowlers between the ages of 11 and 35. The Scholarships will complement Surrey Cricket’s existing spin-bowling development programme. Those awarded a Scholarship will receive a 12-month individual one-to-one coaching programme from a team of former Surrey spin bowlers, led by Pat Pocock.
