Playground markings have been installed in 5 Lambeth Primary Schools as part of the nPower Urban Cricket project. The schools involved are St Saviours, Loughborough, St John’s (Angel Town), St Helen’s and Corpus Christie.

The 2nd Phase of the project was the installation of a multi-use games area (MUGA)
at Wyck Park. In 2008 we are running a coaching programme within the 5 schools, which will feed into a new community cricket club based at the Wyck Park facility.

In addition, as part of the Brit Insurance community sponsorship, 10 primary schools
across the whole of Surrey were selected to receive £3,000 each to support the installation of playground markings. Surrey Cricket and the School Sport Coordinator’s have strategically selected the schools across Surrey.

The 10 schools involved in the Brit scheme were:
West Surrey - Shawfield Primary School, New Monument School, Worpelsdon Primary School
Central Surrey - The Weald C of E Primary School, St Paul’s Primary School
East Surrey - Marden Lodge Primary School
Inner London - St Mary’s C of E School, Brunswick Primary School
Outer London - Hollymount Primary School, Winterbourne Boys School

For 2008, 5 new schools are being selected by the Schools Sports coordinator network, which will see £3,000 invested into each school.
