NatWest CricketForce

NatWest CricketForce encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

Natwest Cricket Force

1,150 clubs across England and Wales registered to take part in NatWest CricketForce 2007, seeing around 80,000 volunteers at work, and bringing £35 million worth of investment to clubs from the local community and businesses.

Surrey had a total of 41 clubs registered last year and Shepperton Cricket Club were selected as the National NatWest CricketForce launch club. Shepperton were struggling to attract new members so in conjunction with the ECB Cricket Trust they secured an interest free loan of £50,000 to enable them to embark on revitalizing their facilities, including building a new pavilion by the start of the 2007 season. This they achieved and
are now reaping the benefits of a fabulous new pavilion. They also won the award at the ECB OSCA’s (Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards) for their NatWest CricketForce project.

2008 sees Surrey Cricket embarking on it’s own showcase project at Purley CC. Surrey Cricket and major sponsor, Brit Insurance, are utilising the event as one of their key volunteering days where both organisations will descend on Purley to assist with the renovation of existing facilities and the building of a new Development Centre. This has also been supported by the Surrey Cricket Trust.
