Our disabilities programme is run in conjunction with the London Community Cricket Association (LCCA) who, in partnership with Surrey Cricket, employs a full-time community sports coach to work in the local area.

Surrey Cricket’s disabilities cricket programme is delivered in partnership with the London Community Cricket Association (LCCA).

Visually Impaired Cricket Festival At the LCCA Cricket Centre in Wallington, Surrey more than 30 visually impaired cricketers from Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and All London took part in the annual under 16 Inter County Tournament of 2007. Each team played a ten-over match against each of the other sides. Sussex ended up taking the honours, with All London in second, Surrey third and Hampshire fourth. Players of the Day: partially sighted player – Ashley Carter (Surrey Lions); B1 player (totally blind) – Ben Breen (All London). Special Needs
LCCA provided trials and training sessions for both moderate learning difficulties and physical disabilities children throughout the year at the KBC and the LCCA Centre. The Surrey physical disabilities team played two matches in July against Kent. They comprised of children with cerebral palsy, Downs syndrome and those in wheelchairs and frames, and Surrey comfortably won both. In June the Surrey MLD squad travelled to Arundel and beat both Sussex and Essex and in July, the county tournament saw Essex, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey battle it out, with Surrey beating a powerful Middlesex team in the final.

Learning and Physical
Within our Learning and Physical programme 734 children from 21 special schools received quality coaching during the curriculem. There were two clubs set up – in Wandsworth during term time and one at the LCCA Centre.
