U9 Boys
Players participate in a county match programme, which will encourage competitiveness, reaction to challenge and, through this, the cricketers will be given the opportunity to cope with success and failure. Emphasis will very much be on development, participation and enjoyment. Players will also be expected to play within the ‘ethics’ of the game.

2007 Season Summary
Under the guidance of manager, Nigel Holman and coach, Matt Cussans, the under 9 season was very different from previous years with most counties no longer playing at this level. There were only four genuine under 9 county fixtures, plus a match against Middlesex under 10s. The other fixtures were made up of games against the Surrey under 10 district sides. Consequently, this year’s fixtures were much tougher than in previous years, which was good for the experience of this squad. Our team was without superstars, resulting in everyone having to contribute, producing an excellent all round squad. The results read four victories, four losses and three draws. Ryan Patel spearheaded the bowling with 14 wickets at an incredibly low average of a wicket every five runs. Kiran Beri and Ollie Pope led from the front with the bat, both scoring over 200 runs and each hitting two half centuries – a superb achievement for nine-year old cricketers.
